As a stay-at-home dad, Eddie Taylor discovered his love for photography by simply taking photos of his twin boys.“Once my daughter was born, I knew it was time to invest into a better camera,” Eddie said. From there, this self-taught photographer turned his passion for photography into a thriving business, Edify Photography.
He specializes in digital portraits, family, weddings, action/events, food/objects, marketing, scenic/environmental and videography. To separate himself from most local lenses, Eddie wanted to take his first passion of technology and combine it with his new passion of photography. “In doing so, I changed my focus to digital green-screen portraits,” Eddie said. “Before I could afford all the equipment necessary, I spent all my time learning my craft out in the world doing scenic and event photography. With endless hours under my belt, I made the investment and have never looked back.”
What makes Edify Photography unique is Eddie’s approach.“ I don’t only focus on the photo. I focus on the subject — the client,” he said. “I try to make every session an experience where the client has just as much input as the person behind the lens. “You have a clear understanding that when you hire me you will get what you want and not just my artistic interpretation. Everyone who I have had the pleasure to work will tell you I have a great balance for professionalism and fun.”
In addition to his professional pursuits, Eddie Taylor is quite involved in the community. He is the founder of the S.E.E.D. Network (Social, Education, Engaging, Diversity), creator of the F.U.L.L. Program (Families United through the Love of Literacy), Director of Literacy Programing for Big Head Books, and a member of St. John’s Lodge #10 PH AF & AM. With that, Eddie keeps to his mission: To instruct and improve, enlighten, educate, illuminate, inspire, nurture and capture life through photography.
